I launched Catfish Studio in 2002. Initially an art quilter,
I began a serious study of feltmaking after seeing the work of felter Jorie Johnson. I went on to study
with Jorie, as well as Polly Stirling, Chad Alice Hagen and Inge Bauer.
I use a wet felt technique to make my pieces and then I embellish with shibori dyed silks and woven
For many years my work was sold at La Lana Wools in Taos, NM. But with the passing of owner Luisa Gelenter (beloved champion of fiber arts) the store closed its doors.
Currently I sell at various art festivals and craft shows
. In my current work, I've been exploring material
combinations - as in recent pieces with paper fibers, felt and metal.
