I launched Catfish Studio in 2002. Initially an art quilter,
I began a serious study of feltmaking after seeing the work of felter Jorie Johnson. I went on to study
with Jorie, as well as Polly Stirling, Chad Alice Hagen and Inge Bauer.
I use a wet felt technique to make my pieces and then I embellish with shibori dyed silks and woven
cottons. My work is sold at
La Lana Wools in Taos, NM and at
The
Creamery Arts Center in Hotchkiss, CO.
I also sell at
various art festivals and craft shows. In my current work, I've been exploring material
combinations - as in recent pieces with paper fibers, felt and metal.
